How I went from 48 years old and healthy to being diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes and back to being healthy again.
Hello, my name is Michael Hudson and in 2005 I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. At that time I asked myself, how did I go from working out 4 hours a day 5 days a week perfectly healthy to being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes?
Life seemed pretty normal growing up in a small town in New Jersey. I always worked out in the gym, was very active in sports at an early age, I competed in semi-pro racquetball tournaments in New Jersey and New York. In the summer I went Scuba diving in the northeast off the coast of Massachusetts and in the Bahamas. In the winter I was skiing in at Killington Vermont, Vernon Valley / Great Gorge New Jersey, and Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
I was on no special food or diet restrictions. I consumed alcohol in moderation, never smoked or took drugs unless it was prescribed by my doctor. I never had any blood pressure issues and carried a modest weight of 205 lbs on average. Everything about my health was normal.
My yearly physicals never showed any health issues. My blood work was always normal,100% in good health. My diet consisted of steak, chicken, fish, eggs, bacon, butter, rolls and occasionally donuts. I always dinned on good salads and consumed plenty of NY State wine with no health issues until 2005 at the age of 48.
Then something changed. My sugar levels started to rise or at least that’s what the doctors told me.
Something happened to me but what?
How did I end up with type 2 Diabetes?
Body Changes.
My wife noticed that I started to go to the bathroom more than normal and suggested that I do see a doctor and have my blood sugar checked. Prior to this, I had no symptoms of any health issues. So I went to the doctor and had some blood work done. My blood work indicated that my sugar levels were up and that I was at the beginning of developing type 2 diabetes. The doctor prescribed Actos Plus and Metformin to start and follow up in three weeks.
After taking the pills for a few weeks, problems started to occur with my breathing and shortness of breath. I went back to the doctor for the follow-up and he told me to stop taking Actos Plus and put me on Januvia along with Metformin to reduce my sugar levels. Regular trips to the doctor showed only modest improvement to my type 2 diabetes and my blood pressure started to go up. My weight stayed almost the same 205 never gaining more than 5 or 10 pounds but always going back down. Many times I asked my doctor and nutritionist what caused this condition? Their answers were “we don’t know.” What a bunch of lies…
That was LIE #1
I’m sorry the doctor said. You will have to take these pills for the rest of your life. I said to myself “this is bullshit”.
What caused my diabetes???
After 10 years of taking different diabetes pills, my doctor put me on injectable insulin. First, 20 units twice a day but that increased to 50 units twice a day with short-acting insulin Apidra of 2 to 10 units at meals. My A1C went from 6.5 to my highest of 11.9 In ten years. The treatment was not working. In Fact, I was getting sicker. I started to give up on the whole thing. My diet changed more times than I can remember. My legs hurt when I would walk with my dog. I would get chest pain spells and had a feeling of trying to swallow which did not go away.
My blood pressure was averaging 150/95 to 98 and despite taking blood pressure meds of 300mg of Irbesartan with 25 mg of Hydrochlorothiazide on a daily basis. I never had high blood pressure in my life. What the Hell is going on, I asked myself?
My Triglycerides were 1500 and measured as high as 2500 and not improving. That is enough to kill me.
I had to start somewhere, so I turned to the internet.
I started to do my own research and try to figure out how to solve this problem. I tried different vitamins, cinnamon, natural food products. Nothing seemed to work. Always measuring my fasting sugar or glucose level in the morning to be 200 mg/dl or over. I noticed my triglycerides went from 300 to over 2000. This is enough to kill a person.
I started to read on what would drop my triglycerides down to normal levels. I found out that taking two 2 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar with water three times a day would drop your triglycerides down to normal and help me lose some weight. I also found out that food-grade diatomaceous earth powder with baking soda worked well to detox my liver and balance out my body’s PH. One tablespoon of baking soda and 1 tablespoon of diatomaceous earth powder every morning.
I continued this regiment eating good salads and eliminating from my diet the following: butter, eggs, most red meats, cheese, and switched from coffee and milk to green tea.
On March 15, 2019, I had my quarterly blood work done and shortly received my lab work results. My Triglycerides went from 1160 mg/dl to 155 mg/dl which is on the high side of normal. Total cholesterol went from 173 mg/dl to 116 mg/dl on the low side of normal. My HDL cholesterol went from 21 to 30 mg/dl greater than 39 is considered normal. LDL to HDL Ratio was 1.8 which is in the middle of normal.
A1C went from 11.3 to 9.3 Labs again were taken in July and A1C was down to 8.0 This number would have been lower but I reduced my insulin intake from 50 units twice a day to 40 units and started to fast 16 to 18 hours a day., only eating from noon and stopping to eat around 6 pm. The doctor’s answer to lower A1C was to increase the insulin not lower it. This would take me in the wrong direction. My sugar numbers were getting better but my Diabetes Disease was getting worse.
I also started intermittent fasting 12 to 18 hours every day. I have NEVER seen my lab NUMBERS this good in ten years of being treated for type 2 diabetes.
To counter the indigestion issue and that feeling of swallowing, I started taking Qunol or CoQ10 at 400 mg per day. I quit taking Crestor a statin drug In 30 days these symptoms went away.
I believe the root cause of type 2 diabetes is too much insulin in the body and the fat build-up in the liver, muscles, arteries caused by the foods I was consuming. My saturated liver had no place to dump excess fat and sugar. It all went into my bloodstream. This fat or cholesterol blocks insulin from entering the cells causing insulin resistance. Basically, I had Too Much Insulin in my system. I found out that today’s grains cause inflammation in the body. I use Tumeric to help with the inflammation issue. About 30ml per day.
My Type 2 diabetes symptoms are:
Moving to a Ketogenic diet helps to lower the fat and sugar build-up in my body.

Intermittent fasting 12 to 18 hrs at a time. Eat only from 12 noon and last meal at 6 pm. This gives your body 18 hours of fasting every day.
Eliminate the following food items from your diet
Any bread products, fried chicken,
All dairy milk. Use non-dairy creamer.
Eggs
Cheese of any kind
Avoid corn, white potatoes, corn chips
Eat Moderate amounts of meats, fish, or chicken
The meat is most problematic. But hay man, you have to eat…
Start fasting 3 times a week for at least 24 hours from 6 pm to 6 pm the next day. Work on building up to do this. Start with a 12 to 16 hour fast every day.,
Eat the following every day
Eat Avocados every day
Salads, Greens, Carrots, Stringbeans
Red Beets, romaine lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes
Spices,
Almond milk is OK, No Soy if possible
Drink Demineralized Water
Do this until your sugar stabilizes with normal morning fasting readings 120 mg/dl or lower. It may take two to three months for your body to respond. But it will respond.

This disease is Reversible. Don’t let your doctor bullshit you into thinking it’s not. Doctors focus on the symptom, not the CURE. High sugar or Glucose is the symptom.
You may have to reduce your insulin or pills until you see a reversing of your diabetes condition. Start to reduce this slowly. Remember, too much insulin is the key.
Caution! Metformin side effects cause heart issues. Replace this medicine with Apple Cider Vinegar 2 Tablespoons twice a day.
Statin Drugs like Crestor cause loss of CoQ10 and weakens the heart muscle. I have stopped using this drug since my glucose levels and triglycerides are now normal
Most drugs prescribed by your doctor for high sugar or glucose can be eliminated.
Remember it’s all about making money for the pharmaceutical companies and keeping you sick and killing you slowly
I am no longer taking blood pressure meds and I have a normal blood pressure of 125/68 on average. I use redwood for better blood pressure results.
